Our Story

Founded  in 2019

Que Pelado Guate was founded in 2019 with the mission of supporting the work of artisan and producer families in Guatemala, with a special focus on empowering women. Following a study conducted in 2020, we identified the western region of Guatemala as our area of focus.

The process of establishing our brand has been challenging, which led us to undertake a rebranding effort to more effectively drive our mission. Que Pelado Guate is dedicated to the commercialization of high-quality textiles, crafts, and coffee.

Although we have experienced gradual growth, we are ready to take the next step: launching our exports and showcasing to the world the talent, quality, and dedication of our Guatemalan producers. We want Guatemala to be internationally recognized for the excellence of our products and the social commitment of our company.

Our Mission

We are a proudly Guatemalan network seeking to elevate the name of Guatemala by showcasing the quality of our products and the hard work of our people.

We aim to support and empower the work and efforts of Guatemalan individuals, especially women. Our network of artisans crafts each piece uniquely and entirely by hand.

HANDMADE

Kimonos

Handcrafted with care, this textile is made using natural dye, blending silk from the Ceiba pentandra tree and cotton—both grown and harvested through traditional methods. Each piece is meticulously created with a manual warping tool and a backstrap loom, preserving the rich heritage of artisanal craftsmanship. Every piece is unique!

CONTEMPORARY FASHION

Hoodies

Discover our collection of contemporary clothing, featuring hoodies, jogger pants, crop top hoodies, caps, and t-shirts, made from a comfortable blend of cotton and polyester. Each piece is adorned with embroidery inspired by Guatemalan textiles, capturing the richness of Guatemala’s culture and blending it with the modern style of our designs. Perfect for those who want to proudly carry a touch of tradition in their everyday look.

ORGANIC PRODUCTS

Coffee

Our roasted ground coffee is available in two unique varieties: light roast, which stands out for its higher caffeine content and vibrant notes, and dark roast, offering a more intense profile with less caffeine. This coffee is planted, cultivated, and harvested artisanally in San Juan La Laguna, Sololá, Guatemala, by families whose primary source of income depends on this tradition. Each cup reflects the effort, dedication, and heritage of these coffee-growing communities.

Wear Culture. Savor Tradition. Celebrate Guatemala.
